Donald Smith Airey, better known as Don Airey, is a prominent figure in the realm of progressive rock and hard rock. He honed his skills through education at Nottingham University and the Royal Northern College of Music. Airey’s career took off in the late 1970s when he joined Cozy Powell’s band Hammer. Since then, he has been a key member of numerous influential acts, most notably Rainbow and Deep Purple.
