Daina Dieva weaves the haunting melodies of Lithuanian folklore into dark ambient soundscapes, crafting sonic narratives that evoke the eerie and the uncanny. Her work, marked by layers of voice, effected guitar, and a variety of instruments including bamboo flute and metallophone, creates a dense atmosphere that oscillates between minimalism and chaos. Since her project began in 2008, Dieva has released ten solo albums, including 'Incubi-Succubi' and 'Nakčia', both from 2009. She collaborates with a range of artists, contributing to compilations and performing in various contexts, from contemporary dance to theater and film. Most recently, she joined the band Calitys, adding another dimension to her already diverse body of work.

Dieva’s sound is both a reflection and a reimagining of her cultural heritage, transforming traditional elements into a modern, avant-garde expression. Her compositions often serve as a backdrop for live performances and installations, inviting listeners into a world where the familiar takes on new, unsettling forms. With each release, she continues to explore the boundaries of her art, enriching the tapestry of experimental music with her unique vision.

Since 2021, Dieva has been a member of Calitys, further expanding her artistic reach. The band’s debut album, 'Songs of Unearthly Longing', released on Cyclic Law, showcases her ability to blend traditional and contemporary elements into a cohesive, evocative whole.
