About

Oklahoma red dirt rock and country fusion.

Cross Canadian Ragweed is an American rock band formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma, in 1994. The ensemble draws from rock, folk, and country traditions while maintaining strong ties to the red dirt music aesthetic emerging from the South-Central United States. Red dirt music—a regional synthesis of country, rock, and Americana roots—provided the primary sonic and cultural framework for the band’s development. Composed partly of members from nearby Yukon in Canadian County, Oklahoma, Cross Canadian Ragweed represents the broader Stillwater music scene and Southern plains regional identity. Their establishment during the height of American alt-country and red dirt music visibility positioned them within post-grunge era Americana and country-rock currents.
