About This Release

Named after the band’s 1996 festival, The Clifford Ball captures Phish’s improvisational, psychedelic rock and jam band ethos across sprawling live takes. Trey Anastasio’s guitar leads and Mike Gordon’s rubbery low end interlock with Page McConnell’s keyboard textures and Jon Fishman’s propulsive drumming — moments of slow-burning groove, tempo shifts, and extended solos prevail.
