About This Release

A chronicle of New Age Steppers' studio experiments across 1980–2012, this On-U Sound collection highlights Adrian Sherwood’s echo-heavy production and the group’s reggae-rooted dub colliding with post-punk attitude. Featuring vocals from Ari Up and Vivien Goldman, tracks move between skittering, off-kilter rhythms and slow, reverb-drenched dub — claustrophobic bass, tape-delay and shredded guitar fragments give the set its uneasy edge.
