About

A relentless pulse of tribal trance that ignites the dancefloor with raw energy.

Meller—the German duo of Dirk Herrmann and Marco Scherer—crafts a potent brew of hard-rocking tribal trance and progressive sound. They eschew conventional electronic dance music structures, instead forging a path defined by a bold, uninhibited fusion of styles. Their live performances are meticulously engineered for the dancefloor, layered with psychedelic elements designed to stimulate and fueled by an immense energy.

Marco Scherer’s journey began in 1992, exploring techno, trance, and breakbeat. By 1998, he transitioned to melodic trance production, simultaneously gaining experience in drum’n’bass and downbeat. That same year marked the founding of plasticAge music with Heiko Klingler, initiating a series of techno projects. Alongside this, Scherer established MELLER, a psychedelic and trance project releasing on labels like AP Records, Tatsu, Jum Jam, and Millennium.

Meller’s sound avoids easy categorization. It’s a relentless, driving force, built on powerful rhythms and expansive melodies. They don’t adhere to rigid genre constraints, instead embracing a fluid approach that prioritizes sonic intensity and hypnotic grooves. The music is visceral—a direct injection of energy designed to connect with the listener on a primal level.

Since their formation, Meller has cultivated a dedicated following within the psytrance scene. Their productions consistently deliver a high-octane experience, solidifying their reputation as innovators within the genre. They are a vital presence in the German electronic music scene, consistently delivering music that resonates with a global audience seeking a powerful, immersive experience.
