The trio – guitarist/vocalist Steven Eagles, drummer Nicholas Millard, and bassist Rachel Lavelle (later Jack Dunkley) – quickly gained attention for their youthful intensity and prolific output. Signing to Shifty Disco at just 16, they released their debut single “Chuck” within weeks of forming, followed by a string of EPs and singles throughout the early 2000s. Their early sound showcased a blend of melodic hooks and driving rhythms, characteristic of the era’s indie rock landscape. Crackout toured extensively, sharing stages with contemporaries like Sum 41 and Seafood, establishing a presence within the UK independent music community before disbanding in late 2005.
