Aliante

Aliante emerged from Coltano, Tuscany, in 2017 as a progressive rock ensemble devoted to instrumental composition. The band unites Jacopo Giusti, Michele Lenzi, Davide Capitanio, and Alfonso Capasso in pursuit of symphonic scope and technical rigor. Two members maintain continuity with nineties neo-progressive tradition through prior work in related ensembles—bassist Michele Lenzi and drummer Davide Capitanio carry that lineage forward. The keyboardist appears to have connections to earlier progressive rock circles, anchoring Aliante within a continuum of Italian symphonic ambition. The ensemble’s focus on instrumental narratives, without vocal mediation, allows structural complexity and harmonic exploration to occupy the foreground. Aliante represents a contemporary voice within European progressive rock, building from historical foundations while exploring the possibilities of modern studio technique and live ensemble coordination.
