About

Black Top Records was a New Orleans, Louisiana based independent record label founded in 1981 by brothers Nauman S. Scott and Hammond Scott. The label closed in 1999. After Nauman Scott died in 2002, Hammond Scott sold the rights to the catalog, and some releases have been reissued through several different labels, including Fuel 2000, Shout! Factory, P-Vine Records and Hep Cat Records.
