About

# Streetwalkers

Streetwalkers were a British rock outfit formed in 1975 by Roger Chapman and Charlie Whitney, bringing together seasoned musicians from Family and King Crimson. The five-piece lineup—featuring guitarist and vocalist Bobby Tench (ex-Jeff Beck Group), bassist Jon Plotel, and drummer Dave Dowle—delivered a raw, energetic sound that blended rock and blues influences across three studio albums before disbanding in 1977. The group's rotating membership included Nicko McBrain on drums, who would later gain prominence as Iron Maiden's longtime percussionist.

Though rooted in classic rock rather than electronic music, Streetwalkers' tight musicianship and collaborative spirit reflected the experimental ethos of mid-70s British rock. Their brief but impactful tenure showcased the era's tendency toward fluid band configurations and cross-pollination between established acts.
