About

# 10cc

10cc are a British art rock and pop group formed in Stockport, Manchester in 1972. The original lineup of Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley, Lol Creme, and Graham Gouldman crafted inventive pop-rock that blended multiple genres—from '50s pastiche to progressive rock—creating a distinctive sound that prioritized studio experimentation and compositional sophistication. Their debut album established them as innovative producers willing to deconstruct and reimagine pop conventions.

The band achieved global success with the 1975 ballad "I'm Not In Love," showcasing their ability to craft emotionally resonant, meticulously arranged pop songs. Following Godley and Creme's departure in 1976 to pursue more experimental work, Stewart and Gouldman continued as a duo, delivering the polished pop-rock album "Deceptive Bends" (1977) and the hit "Dreadlock Holiday" (1978). Though their chart dominance waned after the late '70s, 10cc's legacy lies in their pioneering approach to studio production and genre-blending arrangements that influenced progressive pop and art rock.
