# Bible Black

New York-based heavy metal outfit Bible Black formed in 1981, bringing together seasoned musicians from legendary acts including Elf, Rainbow, and Shakin' Street. The group's revolving lineup featured bassist Craig Gruber and drummer Gary Driscoll alongside guitarist Andrew "Duck" MacDonald, working with vocalists Louis Marullo, Jeff Fenholt, and Joey Bellardini across their active period. Though the band never secured a major label deal, they recorded multiple demos between 1981 and 1983 with notable producers including Kansas's Jeff Glixman and ex-Mountain bassist Felix Pappalardi, showcasing their hard rock sound with originals and covers like their take on the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black."

Bible Black's brief but notable tenure became a launching pad for several musicians who went on to significant careers in metal and rock. The band's complete studio output—spanning demos and unreleased tracks from their formative years—was compiled and released as *The Complete Recordings 1981-1983* in 2022 by Louder Than Loud Records in collaboration with Germany's Pride & Joy Music, with a vinyl reissue following through High Roller Records in 2023, introducing their work to a new generation of rock enthusiasts.
