About

Dim Stars, an alternative rock supergroup that shone briefly in the early 1990s, brought together the formidable talents of Richard Hell from Richard Hell and the Voidoids, Thurston Moore and Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth, and Don Fleming of Gumball, with some contributions from Robert Quine of the Voidoids. Known for their unique blend of punk-infused rock, Dim Stars made a notable entry into the music scene with a limited-edition set of three 7" EPs, showcasing their raw energy and innovative approach to rock music. This initial offering was later compiled into a single CD in 1992, followed by a full-length album that highlighted Hell's prowess as a songwriter. Although their time together was short-lived and they did not tour, Dim Stars left an indelible mark on the alternative music landscape of the early '90s with their singular release, a testament to the collaborative spirit of rock's most inventive musicians.
