About

Pernice Brothers, an American band spearheaded by Joe Pernice, emerged from the indie rock scene in 1998 with their debut album, "Overcome by Happiness," under the prestigious Sub Pop label. Known for their sophisticated blend of alt-country and indie rock, the band crafts songs with intricate arrangements, melodic richness, and thoughtful lyrics. After a brief hiatus, they made a triumphant return in 2001 with "The World Won't End," marking their independence by releasing it on Ashmont Records, a label co-founded by Pernice and his manager Joyce Linehan.

Over the years, Pernice Brothers have continued to evolve their sound, contributing significantly to the indie genre with albums like "Yours, Mine and Ours" (2003) and "Discover a Lovelier You" (2005). Their music, often highlighted by its lyrical depth and melodic complexity, has solidified their position within the indie music landscape. Following a string of releases, including the lively "Live a Little" (2006) and the introspective "Goodbye, Killer" (2010), the band took a pause, only to return with "Spread the Feeling" in 2019, reaffirming their status as purveyors of finely crafted indie rock.
