About

# Scott Storch

Scott Storch is an American record producer and keyboardist whose influential work spans hip-hop, R&B, and pop production. He gained prominence as a founding member of Philadelphia's The Roots, contributing keyboards to their 1993 debut *Organix*, before establishing himself as a prolific solo producer throughout the late 1990s and 2000s. His signature sound—characterized by lush keyboard arrangements and melodic sensibilities—became a defining element of mainstream hip-hop and R&B during this era.

As a producer, Storch co-created some of the decade's biggest hits, including Dr. Dre's "Still D.R.E." (1999), and went on to receive production credits on five Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles: Beyoncé's "Baby Boy," Terror Squad's "Lean Back," 50 Cent's "Candy Shop," Mario's "Let Me Love You," and Chris Brown's "Run It!" His work demonstrates a masterful blend of organic instrumentation with contemporary production techniques, earning him four Grammy Award nominations and establishing him as a cornerstone producer in early 2000s urban music.
