Manchester-based vocalist who became an integral part of the city's electronic music scene during the early 1980s. McDonald joined 52nd Street in the early '80s, replacing Jennifer McCloud, and recorded three singles with the synth-pop outfit on the legendary Factory Records label, contributing her distinctive vocals to the label's experimental electronic output.
Following her departure from 52nd Street in 1984, McDonald continued her work in electronic music as a vocalist with Quando Quango, further establishing herself within Manchester's vibrant post-punk and electronic music community during a pivotal period for the genre.
