About

# Sybil

Sybil is a versatile vocalist who emerged from the New Jersey music scene in the mid-1980s, blending soulful vocals with electronic and dance production. After signing to Next Plateau Records, she gained widespread recognition through her dance-pop interpretations of classic soul standards, including celebrated covers of Dionne Warwick's "Don't Make Me Over" and "Walk On By" that became crossover hits in both the US and UK markets.

Throughout the 1990s, Sybil solidified her presence in dance music, achieving significant chart success with her 1993 releases "The Love I Lost" and "When I'm Good And Ready" on PWL Records. Her discography showcases her adaptability across multiple styles—from the soul/R&B-leaning *Doin' It Now!* to the dance-pop focused *Good 'N' Ready*—demonstrating her ability to navigate both mainstream and club-oriented markets. Following her final studio album *Still A Thrill* in 1997, Sybil has maintained an active presence in electronic music, continuing to release house and dance singles crafted for the club circuit while maintaining a touring schedule.
